5. Following a rule

About this game

How to play

  1. A pupil sits a five-question test using its own idea of the rule.
  2. Show it example cards, or explain the rule in words. It re-sits the test with whatever way of going on fits what it has seen.
  3. Get all five right with as few cards as you can, then decide what to do with a case that breaks the pattern.

The idea

Every example the pupil had seen fitted its own way of going on too. Examples alone never settle which rule someone is following.
